Thailand-wide dive calendar at a glance
Thailand is one of the few countries where you can dive almost year-round – but there is no single nationwide best season. Monsoon patterns, wind direction, local geography, park access, and boat schedules affect what is practical in each region.
This guide keeps things practical: compare official planning examples, see what each source actually supports, and choose a region based on the month you're traveling. Use it as a starting point, then check official forecasts and confirm current trips with the operator.
Best time to dive Thailand (short answer)
If you just want the quick version:
- January – April: TAT travel guidance lists Phuket and Krabi as tourism examples. This is not proof of dive conditions; Similan access and other Andaman bases need separate checks.
- June – September: Official planning guidance highlights Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. September guidance also names Koh Samui.
- Khao Lak, Koh Lipe & Pattaya: Use the detailed table below. Park access, remote-island transport, and local weather make one broad nationwide rule unreliable.
